The Murder of Todd Schumacher | Part 4 | February 21, 2023
Jai Hamilton has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and started working as an Animal Control Officer in Lexington shortly after graduating.
She is certified as a livestock Investigator through the Kentucky Horse Council, as well as being a certified Humane Investigator through the National Animal Cruelty Investigations School.
Each year she teaches classes on animal neglect and abuse to animal advocates as well as police recruits. With nearly 15 years of experience as an Animal Control Officer, she currently serves as the lead animal cruelty investigator for Fayette county.
She was the first Animal Control Officer in her county to apply for and execute search warrants for animals, and has worked hundreds of animal abuse cases that have resulted in convictions. In her “off-time” she enjoys training dogs in obedience, bite work, and detection.
