Lt. David M. Richardson

David Richardson was raised in Lexington, KY and graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1997.

After working the hotel industry, he joined the Lexington Division of Police in 2001. In 2005, he joined the Robbery / Homicide Unit as a Detective. During his seven years in the unit, he became the technology resource for the unit and became well versed in video forensics and cell phone technologies.

During his time in investigations he attended multiple classes in Video Forensics and obtained a certification as Forensic Video Technician along with attending multiple death scene investigations classes.

In 2012 he was promoted to Sergeant and was assigned to the Forensic Services unit where his duties included supervising all aspects of crime scene evidence collection. In 2017, he was promoted to Lieutenant where he oversaw Special Victims investigations before his current assignment in the Bureau of Administration.
